This cache is a small plastic container with clip-locks at each edge. It contains a geocaching declaration in both Greek and English and a small logbook. Please bring your own pen or pencil for signing. There is space in the container for some small trading items and trackables; at the time of placing, the cache contains a trio of origami models for the geocacher who is first to find this cache.
From all over Syros you can see the hill of Pyrgos. Rising to 442 metres, it is the highest point on the island. This cache is hidden by the triangulation marker at the very top of Pyrgos...at the very top of Syros! You are fortunate enough to be able to drive to most of the way up to this cache as Pyrgos is home to an array of communications towers and windmills. The road is narrow after you pass the blue and white church of Agia Ekaterini, so take it carefully.
Once you have parked, you can find the trailhead close to the towers.
The path is simple...look north, spot the triangulation marker at the highest point, and carry on walking upwards. It only takes about 10 minutes of walking. You can bring a picnic!
On top of Syros, take time to look around you. It really is beautiful up here!
Once you have found the cache and signed the log, please replace it carefully and make sure it is well hidden, but not too difficult to extract.
