Geocache Description:

“Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies.
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand, dare seize the fire?”

[William Blake]

Thanks to frilk for highlighting the German electronic music band "Tangerine Dream" who released "Tyger" in 1987 as the title track from the album of the same name. The album is based on the poetry of William Blake.

The bike path between Mitcham and Heatherdale stations crosses the railway line via a pedestrian bridge. It’s a great place for train spotting, but if you make a wrong turn soon after, the sealed path suddenly runs out.

You can find yourself on the wrong side of the tracks!

Railroad tracks typically run through the centre of a town, and in the days of steam engines the downwind side would receive a greater share of the trains’ smoke and soot. Real estate on the upwind side would become more desirable, leading to the idea of the right and wrong sides of the tracks, and the distinctions of affluence and class that followed.

In these seedy, dangerous areas the poor and destitute could find a place to live. Evil creatures and wild beasts such as tygers might well roam free. Not the type of places you would choose to visit at any time, much less at night - unless hunting for a cache of course!

This fifth Tyger is shyer, but with a bigger bite than previous littermates. Watch your fingers!

This is a micro cache with only space for a log so you will need to BYO pen.

***CONGRATULATIONS to The Welder on FTF***
