Assassinated Traditional Cache

The 2017 Geocaching with Abe geocache series are all named with characteristics that come to mind when describing Abraham Lincoln. This cache is named for Abe’s assassination.

Five days after General Robert E. Lee surrendered his army at Appomattox Court House ending the American Civil War, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated.  On April 14, 1865, John Wilkes Booth, a famous actor and Confederate sympathizer, assassinated President Abraham Lincoln at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C.
