We placed this cache in 2002 while on a tour of the Yukon & Alaska before the restriction on "holiday caches" (which upon reflection I 100% agree with) and we have been unable to return to it to maintain it.
We are thankful for the support of local cachers for reports and maintenance.
We would truly appreciate it if anyone pre-planning visiting the cache could take a few "bits & pieces" in case the cache needs maintenance etc. it would be a pity for such a popular cache to die; Geoff & Judi
The road through Chicken is only open during the summer months but it is a great detour from the Alcan through Dawson City and on to Whitehorse.
Legend has it that the original founders of Chicken wanted to call the town Ptarmigan (for the state bird) but could not spell the name so they decided on the name Chicken as thats what they called them.
We have taken the misspelled bird theme to name this cache, since Geoff is from New Zealand and their national bird is the Kiwi we have named it keewee's kache.
