Geocache Description:

At the entrance to the previous Peckfield Colliery, the Phoenix stands proud and tall.

The railway used to run from Ledston Luck colliery to Micklefield pit for the coal to be washed. The track used to run alongside Ridge Road before sweeping around in front of the Phoenix, across the middle of the newly built unit and down to the pit.

Evidence can still be seen of this railway at various points along Ridge Road if you look closely.

The house is in the photo is still there, just hidden behind the factory.

Please be careful with any children or pets as large lorries use this road throughout the day.
