LE SITE :
Le Diamant est une commune française située en Martinique. Ses habitants sont appelés les Diamantinois. En 2014, la commune comptait 6 143 habitants.
La ville du Diamant est située dans la presqu'île du Diamant au sud-ouest de la Martinique, en face d'une large baie où trône le fameux Rocher du Diamant que l'on retrouve sur la majorité des cartes postales de l'île. On est ici dans un lieu chargé d'histoire:
Les indiens Arawaks sont les premiers à y habiter au IVème siècle, ils sont ensuite chassés et remplacés par les indiens Caraïbes, redoutables guerriers, au Xème siècle. Les colons français s'y installent finalement à la fin du XVIIème siècle.
En 1804, le Rocher sera le théâtre de l'affrontement entre Français et Anglais. Ces derniers décident même d'y installer une garnison et une batterie de canons afin de contrôler le trafic maritime dans le Canal de Sainte Lucie.Il faudra 17 mois aux Français et de multiples assauts pour déloger les sujets de sa Majesté.
Parmi les choses à voir on citera la Maison du Bagnard et le mémorial Cap 110 tous deux à proximité de l'Anse Caffard. Les randonneurs auront également le loisir de monter au sommet du Morne Larcher pour profiter d'une vue splendide sur le Sud de la Martinique, le Rocher et l'île de Sainte Lucie à quelques kilomètres.
La visite du Diamant fait clairement partie des choses à faire lors d'un séjour en Martinique. Pour profiter de la plage le mieux est de se rendre à la sortie du bourg à l'endroit où les vendeurs de fruits et de produits locaux (plus ou moins) se sont installés. Pour une vue de la baie dans son intégralité on pourra se rendre tout au bout du très long ponton en face de la Place de l'Eglise.
LA CACHE :
Une fois que vous avez trouvé une place pour votre voiture sur le parking prévu, le site est très facile d'accès. La cache Micro manétique contient originellement le log mais pas de crayon. Apportez donc votre crayon (BYOP) et soyez extrêmement discret, l’endroit est très fréquenté. SVP replacez la cache exactement à l’endroit où vous l’avez trouvé.

The city of the Diamant is situated in the peninsula of the Diamant in the southwest of Martinique, in front of a wide bay where thrones the famous Rock of the Diamant which we find on the majority of the postcards of the island. We are here in a place steeped in history:
The Arawak Indians are the first ones to live in the IVth century there, they are then hunted and replaced by the warlike Carib, formidable Indians, in the Xth century. The French colons settle down there finally at the end of the XVIIth century.
In 1804, the Rock will be the theater of the confrontation between Frenchman and Englishman. The latter decide even to install a garrison and a gun battery there to check the sea traffic in the Channel of Saint Lucia. It will be necessary 17 months to the French people and multiple assaults to dislodge the subjects of her Majesty.
Among things to be seen we shall quote the House of the Convict and the memorial Cape 110 both near the Anse Caffard. The walkers will also have the leisure to rise at the top of Morne Larcher to take advantage of a magnificent view on the South of Martinique, the Rock and island of Saint Lucia in some kilometers.
The visit of the Diamond is clearly a part of things to do during a stay in Martinique. To take advantage of the beach, the best is to go to the exit of the village to the place where the sellers of fruits and local products (more or less) settled down. For a view of the bay in its entirety we can make everything at the end of the very long pontoon in front of the Place of the Church.

When you found a place for your car on the parking lot, the site is very easily accessible. The Micro magnétic hiding place contains originally the log but no pencil.
