This cache sits on the site of the former Galion Brewing Company. Here Galion Standard Beer ("The Beer that made Milwaukee Jealous") was produced. Galion residents consumed approximately 2,400 of the 8,000 barrels of beer annually brewed. Brewing ceased around 1918. The brewery was eventually remodeled and would serve as the Crawford County Children's Home for the next 45 years.
Park near the shelter house. You can still see evidence of the former orphanage's swimming pool to the east of the basketball court. If you are a bit stealthy, you can often see grazing deer from the nearby fields.
