Geocache Description:

Cache is near the iconic Anderton Lift built in 1875 to take boats up and down the 50 foot difference between the Weaver Navigation and the Trent and Mersey Canal.   Boaters will know this is not a lift bridge, but the cache is at Bridge 199A hence the title....

The Boat Lift is one of the Seven Wonders of The Canal World in Britain, and deserves a cache in close proximity so you can marvel at the engineering achievement!  Its a handy cache for boaters as theres lots of mooring nearby, and its another easy grab while walking/cycling the towpath, and you can also park a car nearby.
