traditional cache in carr wood local nature reserve.
Carr wood currently consists of nearly four hectares of mixed woodland and unimproved grassland, its proximity to ripley town center gives it added value as a wildlife haven and a place for locals to enjoy. since the 1920s it has been left to naturally regenerate and the result today is a mixed and varied woodland that is home to a wide range of native flora. formerly larger carr wood lost ground first to the large supermarket on nottingham road and then to the A610 ripley bypass. you are looking for a clipbox inside a cammo bag, please replace as found. this is only a short walk from butterley road but it may be muddy underfoot so wellies or good walking boots are advised making it unsuitable for wheelchairs and buggies. for a longer walk round the nature reserve the access off fletcher street can also be used. cache slightly awkward to reach, please rehide carefully so it is not too easily visible. message us with any problems and happy caching. our thanks go to amber valley borough council for permission to place the cache. finally the cache is NOT accessible from the A610, use the trailheads provided.
