#2 Villa Da Sacco
Costruita alla fine del XVII secolo, Villa Da Sacco è situata in prossimità del fiume. Sull’ampio giardino si affacciano il palazzo, i rustici che compongono ali e cortili e la cappella dedicata a Santa Anna, che risale alla seconda metà dell’Ottocento. Nel vasto parco sull’Adige, tra alberi secolari, si trovano quattro torrette costruite anch’esse nella seconda metà dell’Ottocento dal conte Carlo Albertini che, essendo al tempo proprietario della villa, diede a queste torrette il nome dei propri figli.
A ridosso della strada Alzaia sono ancora presenti i resti di una costruzione seicentesca di ingegneria idraulica per il sollevamento dell’acqua.
Risale probabilmente al Seicento una Madonna con santi dipinta sul casino denominato “Casa del Cacciatore”. Il palazzo, ampiamente modificato alla metà dell’Ottocento con l’eliminazione delle piccole torri del tetto, presenta facciate sobrie e interni di discreto pregio, decorati a stucco e con preziose tappezzerie ottocentesche.
Negli anni degli eventi bellici che interessarono la zona, la villa ospitò truppe e reparti militari: nel 1848 accolse un ospedale da campo austriaco, nel 1859 fu alloggio di ufficiali e graduati. In queste occasioni furono riportati gravi danni, il muro di cinta fu demolito, vennero abbattuti molti alberi del giardino e gli interni del palazzo furono pesantemente danneggiati. Anche durante i conflitti mondiali del Novecento la villa fu alloggio di squadre militari. Occupata per due anni nel corso della seconda guerra mondiale da un comando germanico, fu infine teatro di una sparatoria tra militari tedeschi e partigiani del posto.

#2 Villa Da Sacco
Built at the end of the XVII century, Villa Da Sacco is situated near the river. Over the large garden look the house, the farm buildings that form wings and courtyards and the chapel dedicated to Saint Anna, dating back to the second half of the nineteenth century. In the huge park going down to the Adige, among secular trees, there are four little towers also built in the second half of the nineteenth century by Count Carlo Albertini who, being the then owner of the house, gave these towers the names of his sons.
Next to the towpath you can still see the remains of a seventeenth century construction of hydraulic engineering for the lifting of water from the river.
A Madonna with Saints painted on the cottage called “hunter’s house” probably dates back to the seventeenth century. The house, greatly altered in the mid nineteenth century, by the elimination of the little towers from the roof, presents sober facades and discreetly valuable insides, decorated with stuccoes and precious nineteenth century tapestries.
In the war years, the villa housed troops and military units: in 1848 it contained an Austrian field hospital, 1859 it was the home of officers and non-commissioned officers. On these occasions serious damage was done to the property, the surrounding wall was destroyed, many trees in the garden were cut down and the inside of the house was heavily damaged. Also during the two World Wars the villa housed military groups; it was occupied for three years during the Second World War by German headquarters and was the scene of a shooting between German soldiers and local partisan.
