El edificio que tenéis enfrente, hoy en día, tiene su sede el Ministerio de Cultura y es fácilmente reconocible por las siete chimeneas que coronan su tejado. Levantado en el Siglo XVI, el edificio se construyó; por orden de un montero de Felipe II quien se la regaló a su hija Elena, recién casada con un Capitán de la Armada Española, el Capitán Zapata. En esta casa la pareja fija; su residencia y vivió feliz, pero a las pocas semanas él tuvo que acudir al frente a combatir a Flandes, a la batalla de San Quintín. Elena quedó sola en casa, desamparada, esperando noticias de su marido hasta que recibió la peor notificación posible, su esposo acabar de fallecer en el frente.
La joven viuda, loca de pena y desconsolada se convirtió; en un alma errante que deambulaba por la casa hasta que un día apareció muerta, tumbada sobre la cama con una enigmática sonrisa dibujada en su rostro. Aparentemente había muerto por desamor pero la gente del servicio siempre mantuvo una opinión bien diferente, su ama mostraba claros signos de violencia cuando apareció muerta en su alcoba. El extraño fallecimiento de Elena desveló un secreto: Elena tenía un amante y se trataba del monarca regente, Felipe II.
Fue el propio rey el que encargó abrir una investigación a fondo para esclarecer las misteriosas circunstancias del suceso pero cuando las personas adecuadas llegaron a la Casa de las Siete Chimeneas para comenzar su trabajo descubrieron que el cadáver de Elena había desaparecido. Nadie lo había visto salir pero tampoco estaba en su interior, ¿Dónde estaba el cuerpo inerte de Elena?
Es a partir de ese momento y de esa extraña desaparición empezaron a producir una serie de apariciones en la casa. Fueron muchos los testigos que juraron haber visto a un espectro caminando por el alero del tejado: Una doncella vestida de blanco que desfilaba con paso lento, unas veces sujetando una antorcha y otras, dándose golpes en el pecho. Un fantasma que a la vista de todos, terminaba su enigmático paseo, firme y quieto, apuntando con uno de sus brazos, de forma clara hacia el Alcázar, residencia entonces del monarca.
Con el paso de los años las apariciones dejaron de producirse y la historia de Elena cayó en el olvido hasta que las obras de reforma del edificio, tras uno de los muros del sótano, unos operarios descubrieron el cadáver de una mujer con un puñado de monedas de oro, curiosamente, de la época de Felipe II
No obstante, estos no son los únicos acontecimientos misteriosos que rodean a la Casa de las Siete Chimeneas. Años más tarde, un mayordomo fue golpeado hasta la muerte y durante las reformas en 1960, se encontró un nuevo cuerpo tras una de las paredes de la casa..
Espero que os haya gustado la leyenda de esta casa. Me hubiera gustado resumirla más, pero creo que esta historia es apasionante.

Raised in the sixteenth century, the building was built by order of a vassal of Felipe II who gave it to his daughter Elena, newly married to a Captain of the Spanish Navy, Captain Zapata. In this house the couple settled and lived happily, but after a few weeks he had to come to the front to fight in Flanders. Elena was left alone at home, helpless; waiting for news of her husband until he received the worst possible notification, her husband finished dying at the war.
The young widow, sad and disconsolate, wandered through the house until one day she appeared dead, lying on the bed but smiling. Apparently he had died for lack of love but the people of the service always maintained a very different opinion, his mistress showed clear signs of violence when she appeared dead in her bedroom. The strange death of Elena revealed a secret, until then hidden: Elena had a love: the king Felipe II.
It was the king himself who open a investigation to clarify the mysterious circumstances of the event but when the right people came to the Casa de las Siete Chimeneas to begin their work they discovered that Elena's body had disappeared. No one had seen him leave but he was not inside either, where was Elena's inert body?
It is from that moment and that strange disappearance when they began to produce a series of extraordinary appearances in the house. There were many witnesses who swore to have seen a ghost walking on the eaves of the roof. A maid dressed in white who paraded with slow step, sometimes holding a torch and others, giving blows to the chest. A ghost that in the sight of all, ended his enigmatic walk, firm and still, pointing with one of his arms, clearly towards the Alcazar, residence then of the king.
Over the years and time the apparitions decreased and the story of Elena was forgotten until the renovation of the building, behind one of the walls of the basement, some workers discovered a the corpse of a woman with some gold coins from the time of Felipe II ... However, these are not the only mysterious events that surround the Casa de las Siete Chimeneas. Years later a butler was beaten to death and much more recently and in 1960, in a new reforms was found a new body, behind one of the walls of the house.
