Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.  You must solve the puzzle to find the cache.

David is a friend of ours. He is a cacher and a runner, and so is his partner Stacy. He's done a few 5ks, 10ks, half marathons, 10milers, 15milers, 20 milers, and now he's doing a full marathon right here in Harrisburg. David ran right past this cache during his first full marathon here in 2017 but he didn't stop to look then because that would really ruin his pace. This cache might take you some time to figure out as well.

This is actually the third cache we've placed that mentions this duo's accomplishments in running. David's really going the distance and to solve this puzzle, so will you. To solve this puzzle and find the cache you need to identify the original "Stacy Ran" cache. You do not have to physically find that cache, and chances are, you won't. From that cache's posted coords, project a massive waypoint of 974.945km (note, that's not miles) at 96.8966°

Note: Projections over large distances do distort and will be somewhat inaccurate. Different calculators, converters, apps, GPSr devices, etc can yield different results for the same input data. Therefore, for this cache you must use Geocaching Toolbox's Coordinate Projection Calculator

Given the huge margin for error, tweak your final coords to N 40° XX.XX4, and W076° XX.XX9, in other words, if you get close, I'm giving you the last digits to help dial it in precisely.

There are all kinds of hazards that runners need to look out for. Depending on where you live and run you may encounter:

  • animals such as bears, bison, horses, dogs, snakes, wasps, even birds and geese
  • debris such as twigs, logs, loose gravel, and acorns
  • structural/environmental obstacles such as guardrails, curbs, uneven pavement, cliffs and steep hills, trees, ocean waves, lampposts, street signs, and fire hydrants

As well as:

  • human activity from cars, bicycles, toddlers, toys, and even other runners.

Hardly ever has a geocache been among this list, but don’t let this one slow you down. Stay on pace to get your smileys.

I want to give special thanks and all around thumbs up to GableGang for helping me put this cache together. I couldn't have done this without you man! Go check out all his other great caches in the area.

If you've enjoyed this cache, please consider giving it a favorite point.
