Koggelmander



Agama atra

This is a plump ground lizzard with a square head and dark charcoal coloured body.

Males can be seen in summer sitting in open saces with the blue colouring visible on the sides of its head.

They feed on ants, termites, other insects, worms anf frogs.

Up to 18 eggs are laid in a hole in sandy gravel.

Length: 10 to 16cm.
