Geocache Description:

Eland

Tragelaphus oryx

A massive sturdy antelope with an ox like appearance. Hide differ in colour from sandy grey to ash grey. The bull is larger than the cow and has a prominent throat skin.

The horns are corkscrew type.

They graze on shrubs but also fruit and grass.

Height: 160 cm.
Length: 300-400 cmn.
Horns: 60 cm.
Weight: Males 900 kg, females 450 kg.
