The Church of the Most Holy Conception, also known as the Sanctuary of Madonna dell'Acqua (Our Lady of the Water), is located in the homonymous hamlet of San Giuliano Terme, on the right bank of the Fiume Morto, which marks the border with the town of Pisa. It was built in 1647 in a place where there was already an aedicule dedicated to the Virgin Mary who, according to tradition, had done a miracle by saving the people from a flood. The aedicule is now on the main altar. Inside, the church is decorated with stuccoes and gildings, and a cycle of 18th-century frescoes by G. B. Tempesti and the Melani Brothers.
