Emmanuel United Reformed Church dates back to 1849 when it was a part of the Congregational Union and the main place of worship for the village of Haydon Wick. The original stone building is still visible, albeit surrounded by the later developments to accommodate more worshippers, meeting rooms, and a modern kitchen to the rear.
The original stone date plaque is now inside the building, in a room affectionately known as the 1849 room, just behind the black framed apex windows at the front of the building.
Old documents and photos have been added to the gallery for those interested in the history of the church and village.
