** Additional Information **
This Geo Art is inspired by the book known as The Hobbit written by J.R.R. Tolkien. A general knowledge of the book will be best for solving each puzzle, although I suspect the viewing of the movie will assist you to some degree as well. Most puzzles are straight forward but be aware for those that might be different from the rest. Be sure to read all the information on the cache page and be prepared for all information that you will receive at each cache location. Being organized will help you get “There and Back Again”.
This Geo Art isn’t for the weak of heart! No matter the time of year this is a solid full day (or more) hiking adventure. Like Bilbo you must be prepared beyond your handkerchief and walking stick when going out for these caches. A good set of shoes, a walking stick, water, batteries for the GPS, a good snack and a keen sense of your surrounding will serve you best. (All these things aren’t required, but you might want to be prepared for anything.) This area isn’t exactly wild and dangerous, although certain areas are a bit more isolated and spotty cell service can make it seem more remote. Be aware that you are walking through natural habitats for things like snakes, deer, turkey, pigs, squirrels, birds, reptiles and the like, imagine each location as a part of the journey as you travel on and off roads and trails, passing waterfalls, ponds, up and down hillsides, into ravines and gullies, passing old homesteads and through new and older parts of the forest. Consider your course wisely and consider the natural obstacles that all these terrain feature present.
After completing this experience, you will likely be a different person as Bilbo was after his journey. My hope is that you will have as much fun in the journey as I have had in discovering this great area.
