Bob Newby is a kind-hearted former nerd who went to high school with Joyce Byers and Jim Hopper. He manages the local Hawkins electronics store. In 1984, Bob began dating Joyce. If the actor playing Bob looks familiar he also was a character in the Goonies movie from 1985. Oh, and you may have seen him in those Lord of the Rings movies. Yea, same guy.
He also figures out what the drawings Will Beyer makes mean and how they can lead them to saving Sherrif Hooper in the upside down.
