I've always wanted to live in a little house in the desert*, just like Michael Landon and Melissa Gilbert in "Little House on the Praire." Although life was often difficult for the Ingalls family, they always seemed to enjoy the "comforts" of their little house. Life was fulfilling and simple, just how they (and I) like it.
Well, I finally have that little house. It's located in beautiful Catalina State Park, where there is a small fee to enter. It's nestled in a quiet place where the only sounds you'll hear are song birds chirping, coyotes howling, and my wife Pooh Pooh slappin' laundry on a rock. It's not very big, only 5 inches by 6 inches by 7 inches, but it's enough home for me and Pooh Pooh. You're always welcome to come by for tea and of course sign our visitor's log, but there's one thing you need to know. We have a special way to enter the house in order to keep out scallywags and neer-do-wells. If we're not there, just make yourself at home. Take whatever you like, but be sure to leave something of equal or greater value. Pooh Pooh loves to decorate!
Remember, you can't say you visited our "little house in the desert" unless you sign the visitor's log!
*Truth be told, I wanted to live on a beach on Long Island Sound, but that's another story.
