The "cache" is a bird in a tree. This is an enjoyable walk through history. Briefly describe the bird to verify your visit.
From the Fort Steele Park travel North 300 metres and turn right on the Wardner - Fort Steele Rd. Follow this for .5 km and turn left onto the Wildhorse Rd. Follow this road past the Dewdney Trail sign, past the switchback at Brewery Creek until you come to the Fisherville signs (about 6 km). You can find parking for a limited number of vehicles just beyond the cemetary.
In 1872 Dave Griffeth and his wife planted Green Pipen Apple trees in Fisherville. He packed them from the Okanagan along the Dewdeny Trail on horseback. Some trees still survive due to the dedicated efforts of some volunteers who tend them. Nearby the fireplace of their home still stands. Spend some time and follow the interpretive trails in and around Fisherville.
The virtual cache is a bird mounted in a tree near the apple tree orchard. No log book, but please e-mail a description of the bird to me to verify your find. Enjoy the day.
