Take a hike to Cheeks Rocks and experience breathetaking views of the Lost River Valley. Park near the stables on Dove Hollow Road. Then take the White Oak Trail to the left of the stables marked by orange blazes. When reaching top of the mountain take a right on the Miller's Rock Trail marked with yellow blazes. Continue past the Cranny Crow overlook built by the CCC in the 1930's to the end of the Miller's Rock Trail.
You will be glad you made the hike to catch these amazing views. The cache is located near the end of the trail. Follow the red blazed Virginia View Trail until you hit the Big Ridge Trail. Take a right on this trail to come back down the mountain. When you hit the service road take a Left down to the creek. Hang a right at the creek and follow Dove Hollow road back to the stables parking area.
A map and trail information is availible at Lost River State Parks main office. Cell service is limited in the area. The park is free for day use from 6 a.m to 10 p.m. There is a few miles of uphill hiking.
