Geocache Description:

Day 10 - 2017 Cachemas in STL

THE SLAGA TWELVE DAYS OF CACHEMAS ARE BACK!!!

The Cache Sled has landed with ten Lords a leaping!!!!

Here’s how it works: For 12 consecutive days beginning December 13th (Day 1), a new cache will be published and every day afterwards until December 24th. If you are able to First to Find, FTF, one of these daily caches, an FTF Cachemas Ornament will be in the container for you to keep. Once again, L Frank has designed a unique ornament that can be converted to a cache container for a future hide; or, you may keep it, your choice. PLEASE, if you get an FTF on one of the 12 days, do not go for another one until day 13, let someone else have the fun.

Again, there will be a Bonus Cache on the 13th day, December 25th. EVERYONE is eligible to find the bonus whether or not you have FTFed a Cachemas hide. This cache can only be found by using all the codes written on the inside of the container lid of each daily cache. Keep these codes and use them to solve the location of the Bonus cache which will publish on the final day, December 25th. The Bonus solution will be included in the final day Cache description and I am promised, it is not a difficult solution.

THE BONUS CACHE CONTAINS TWO LARGE PREMIUM GEOCOINS

AS WELL AS AN AWESOME ORNAMENT

Have fun and remember to thank Brandt Teske, aka 87preludea20a3, in your log. He brought this great series to St. Louis.

Geocache Description:
This cache is located at a very nice park in Fairview Heights, IL.  I included parking coordinates; from there you can take your choice of trailhead and make your way (via more than one winding trail) to the cache.  Note: bushwacking a more direct route will raise the terrain rating and may get you wet.

Located in the northern part of the city, Pleasant Ridge Park is the largest of the two community parks with 95 acres. The park offers wintertime sledding, and a bit of very early Fairview Heights history represented in the park in the form of a 2-story log cabin, a structure built about 1850 by the Kinsella family.  Park website: https://www.cofh.org/Facilities/Facility/Details/Pleasant-Ridge-Park-3

This page has more information on the history of the Kinsella Log Cabin:

Please follow the park rules and hours of operation.  Also please do no approach this cache from any of the private properties around the park.

Permission to place this was confirmed with the Fairview Heights Parks & Recs department.
