Geocache Description:

This cache is in my series named after classic works of literature.  "The Scarlet Letter" was written by Nathaniel Hawthorne in 1850.

Another good read is the short story "Why I Live At The P.O." by Eurora Welty - a favourite author of mine.

The listed co-ordinates are for Lyneham Post Office. How long has it been since you've sent something by mail? I don't mean just a Christmas card or something you sold on eBay, but a letter that you wrote by hand and placed in an envelope with a stamp on it? Don't you wish that people would write nice letters to you more often? Wouldn't it be better than bills all the time?

A Canberra postman was working a long week. He was to spend Monday to Wednesday delivering mail to south-side suburbs, and Thursday to Saturday delivering mail to north-side suburbs (yes, he even worked on Saturday). Thankfully, the postman was able to have Sunday off.

On Monday the postman finished in Fisher

On Tuesday the postman finished in Red Hill

On Wednesday the postman finished in Greenway

On Thursday the postman finished in Holt

On Friday the postman finished in Bruce

On Saturday the postman finished in Giralang

The co-ordinates are at 35 15.MTW E 149 06.TFS

Checksum Monday to Saturday is 23.

Bring a pen to sign the log.
