Most of this park was dedicated to the City of Madison by the Quarry Cove subdivision in 2000. But when the Orchard Pointe subdivision created Fitchrona Road in 2008, a triangle section at the northeast corner was dedicated to the City of Fitchburg. This is why the size and shape of the park varies depending on which map you're looking at.
The cache is available during the park hours of 4am-10pm seven days a week. The nearby playground and the swag in the cache make this a good candidate for kids, but they should be old enough to navigate tricky terrain. Those seeking to fill their D/T Grid may also like this one; I believe it is the only 1.5/4 combination in Madison at the time of publication. This is a manageable 4 terrain as long as you come prepared and proceed carefully.
Here are the conditions you should expect. You won't find any trails through these woods. There are steep elevation changes in some spots, heavy overgrowth that doesn't seem to thin out that much even in winter, and some industrial junk strewn around for good measure.
The logbook here has plenty of room, so consider writing a little something about your journey for others to enjoy when they visit. This used to be the norm in the early days of this game, and I'd love to see the habit make a comeback. Take your time, and enjoy the adventure!
