This geocache is placed near the location of the former Millwoods Drive-In.
During the heydays of drive-in theatres, Edmonton was the drive-in capital of Canada when there were 9 theatres here in the mid 1970s. The Millwoods Drive-In opened in 1977 at 51 Ave and 50 St. There were 2 screens. The movies shown varied significantly from popular hits to the very racy. Some nights there would be dusk to dawn showings which could be a 4 back to back movie marathon
The Millwoods Drive-In closed in 1994. It reopened in 1995 as the Stardust Twin Drive-In. In 1998 the drive-in permanently closeand and the screens were demolished the same year.
