Esta plaza rinde homenaje a Pedro Javier González Zerolo activista por lucha por la igualdad de derechos de la Comunidad LGTB
La plaza de Pedro Zerolo es un espacio público con planta rectangular ubicado en las cercanías de la Gran Vía de Madrid en el barrio de Chueca.
El primer nombre fue "Plaza de Bilbao". Se cambió entre 1931 y 1939 a "Plaza de Ruiz Zorrilla", en honor del dirigente republicano del siglo XIX Manuel Ruiz Zorrilla y que se denominó hasta 2016 "Plaza de Vázquez de Mella" en honor al pensador carlista Juan Vázquez de Mella.
En junio de 2015, la Federación Estatal de Lesbianas, Gays, Transexuales y Bisexuales (FELGTB) y el Colectivo Gay de Madrid (Cogam) propusieron cambiar el nombre de la plaza, para dedicarla a la memoria, del entonces recientemente fallecido, Pedro Zerolo, político socialista que se significó en la reivindicación de los derechos de dichos colectivos. El 28 de enero de 2016, la Junta de Gobierno del Ayuntamiento de Madrid aprobó dicho cambio, manteniéndose el nombre de Vázquez de Mella únicamente para una calle existente con el mismo nombre en el distrito de Ciudad Lineal.
Como curiosidades, el parking de esta plaza se construyó en 1949 y se reformo en 2005 a cargo de Teresa Sapey, convirtiendose en una distinción para el barrio. “Lo erótico del amor” es el concepto detrás de este estacionamiento; se citan elegantes versos de la obra literaria de Dante Alighieri del quinto canto de la Divina Commedia. El párquing consta de tres plantas igual que el libro consta de tres partes. Piezas de vídeo arte muestran partes del cuerpo humano proyectándose en las paredes de los extremos de los carriles y en otra zona se encuentran fotografías de autor con secuencias de población local besándose. En la entrada podemos ver también un lazo rojo de metal, símbolo del conocimiento, conciencia y compromiso en la lucha contra el SIDA, lo que constituye una clara señal para las personas que se acercan al centro de Madrid y al mismo barrio de Chueca.
Sobre el Caché. Reconozco que la zona donde está el caché puede puede estar sucia (sobretodo en olores) y con una la gran cantidad de muggles en la zona, sobretodo por las tardes.

This square pays tribute to Pedro Javier González Zerolo in his struggle for equal rights for the LGBT community
Pedro Zerolo's Square is a public space with a rectangular floor located near the Gran Vía de Madrid in the Chueca neighborhood. The first name was "Plaza de Bilbao", which was changed between 1931 and 1939 to "Plaza de Ruiz Zorrilla", in honor of the nineteenth-century republican leader Manuel Ruiz Zorrilla and which was named until 2016 "Plaza de Vázquez de Mella" in honor of the Carlist thinker Juan Vázquez de Mella.
In June 2015, the State Federation of Lesbians, Gays, Transsexuals and Bisexuals (FELGTB) and the Gay Collective of Madrid (Cogam) proposed to change the name of the square, to dedicate it to the memory of the then recently deceased Pedro Zerolo, politician socialist that was signified in the vindication of the rights of said collectives. On January 28, 2016, the Governing Board of Madrid City Council approved the change, keeping the name of Vázquez de Mella only for an existing street with the same name in the Ciudad Lineal district.
As curiosities, the parking of this square was built in 1949 and was reformed in 2005 by Teresa Sapey, becoming a distinction for the Chueca. The design features of the entrance also include a red metal bow, a symbol of knowledge, awareness and commitment in the fight against AIDS, which is a clear signal for people who come to the center of Madrid and the same neighborhood. Chueca "The erotic of love" is the concept behind this parking lot; verses of the literary work of Dante Alighieri of the fifth song of the Divina Commedia are quoted, just as the book consists of three parts, this parking lot consists of three floors. Video art pieces show parts of the human body projecting on the walls at the ends of the lanes and in another area there are author photographs with sequences of local people kissing.
