Geocache Description:

The Illawarra is a beautiful spot to life or visit. The spectacular escarpment offers amazing views and picturesque walks while our beaches are some of the best in the state, the steelworks and supporting industry chugs away day n night as a reminder that the Illawarra is predominantly an industrial region. We often lose sight of the many other attractions in our region, our inland waterways offer so much that I’d overlooked until now.

The Illawarra Canoe Classic as the name suggests is a series of caches accessible only by water, I’m sure some will try without the aid of a watercraft – good luck with that.

Be prepared when venturing onto the water, follow all the appropriate safety requirements and precautions, check the tides and the weather conditions as this many help you getting to the cache. Be advised that you may get wet and please check the attributes of this cache. This series isn’t for everyone.

Many of the caches have a high muggle factor and your actions in retrieving the cache may draw muggles attention, if this is the case come back another time. The star rating shouldn’t be overlooked. All the caches in this series are preform containers – please leave the attachment mechanism in situ and only remove the tube.

The cache is located on an island in Mullet Creek. This area is popular with families wanting to picnic and do some recreational fishing. The island has a very high muggle factor. This one cache where you might swim or wade to GZ.
