Geocache Description:

Another cache on our walking route round Turriff.

There is nearby parking, so can be a relatively quick grab.  Otherwise, it makes a lovely walk.

This is one of many ways of reaching the Turriff Showground (the Haughs), or the 'Den' as its more affectionately known locally.  A nice short walkway through a woody area leading down to the Haughs.

At the start of the walkway, you will pass under a red sandstone arch with 'CENTRAL' on it.  This hasn't always been here.  Only since 2000.  Before this, the arch was the entryway to the actual old Mart which, if you are standing looking at the arch and look behind - there is Central Mart Close - now residential flats. When the flats went up, the arch was moved to where it is today.

Very popular with dog walkers so a bit of stealth may be required at times.

Cache is a small plastic container approx 3inches x 2inches.  Enjoy!
