Lepnon Walley, Ver Geocaching is a Pleasure in 2018. Did I say that with the right accent??? Oh well... let’s at least start the new year right with a souvenir and an event.
Geocaching HQ made the following announcement:
"2017 has been a fun year for geocaching: we celebrated 3 Million Active Geocaches, went geocaching around the globe with Where’s Signal the FrogⓇ, and found pirate booty with The Lost Treasure of Mary Hyde. But it’s time to start looking ahead. Let’s make 2018 the best year ever! To get us off to a good start, We’re announcing two new souvenirs: one to celebrate your last cache of 2017, (which we hope you earned) and one to celebrate your first cache of 2018!" (That is why you’re here)
WHAT: Earn your souvenir for first Cache of 2018.
WHY: To get you out of bed and start the day right..!
WHEN: Monday, January 1, 2018 9am. to 10:30am.
WHERE: Hometown Restaurant, 1 N Londonderry Square, Palmyra, PA 17078 (in the meeting room)
WHO: Anyone serious about geocaching souvenirs. Its early in the morning (for some people), and if you’re gonna make 2018 a better year than 2017, there’s no better time to start than now.
Come on now... really... 9am isn’t all that early, but I realize last night might have been a late one, what with waiting up for the kids and all (wink, wink). But this is a Geocaching event... where you get to meet CO’s, Reviewers, and at 9am... the early birds of the group. They’re the ones that are up getting the FTFs, or have their goal of 10 for the day by noon... you know... the movers and shakers of the neighborhoods. Oh Boy... after saying all that, I hope they didn’t get their first Cache last night at 12:01 and decide to sleep in this morning..! Well if that’s YOUR plan, we’re proud of you. Maybe you’d like to come on out and inspire us to make 2018 our best year yet.
I’m getting some help on this from Vertumnis & MrsV, and we would like to see you start the year with a souvenir by attending our event.
I’ll have a small collection of TBs and coins for you to discover, and a few TBs from Florida that you could grab and travel with. Bring your TBs and coins to drop or for discovery as well.
One other thing... they don’t open till 9am, so getting there early for a jump start won’t be too much of an advantage, but if you want to stand in the parking lot and talk Geocaching... I’m sure you won’t offend anyone in our group. As usual, no purchase is necessary to attend or log this event... but your presence is required. See you in the morning.
This event meets the criteria to: "Find a geocache or attend an event on January 1, 2018 to earn the First Cache of 2018 souvenir."
