Geocache Description:


神泉苑（しんせんえん）は、京都市中京区にある東寺真言宗の寺院。本尊は聖観音・不動明王・弘法大師。二条城の南に位置し、元は平安京大内裏に接して造営された禁苑（天皇のための庭園）であった。境内に「恵方社」として「大歳神：歳徳神（としとくじん）」を祀るが毎年大晦日の晩に恵方に祠の向きを変える点が他の神社仏閣と異なる（日本国内で毎年向きを変える「大歳神」は唯一ここだけに見られる祀り方であると伝えられる）。
