Geocache Description:

Welcome to a series of Kayak Caches in Charlotte Harbor Preserve State Park. Free parking and Kayak launch is available at Sunrise Park off of Edgewater Drive. Additional option would be Port Charlotte Beach Park but there is a parking fee.

Caches were placed at low tide and most should be accessible by kayak. Enjoy natural Florida.

***This may be the most difficult cache to access in the series depending on the tides.***

There are seven different species of gar found on the American continent where they can be found in fresh or brackish water habitats such as lakes and reservoirs, and in the larger slow-moving rivers. The gar is most commonly found in eastern parts of North America, Central America and also on a number of the Caribbean islands.

This cache was placed with permission of the Florida Park Service.
