Let's Make a Deal is a television game show that originated in the United States in 1963. We thought we would ring in the New Year with a little fun in the same way.
For those of you who do not know the show, the basic idea:
1) The format of Let's Make a Deal involves selected members of the audience, referred to as "traders," making deals with the host.
2) In most cases, a trader will be offered something of value and given a choice of whether to keep it or exchange it for a different item. The program's defining game mechanism is that the other item is hidden from the trader until that choice is made. The trader thus does not know if he or she is getting something of greater value or a prize that is referred to as a "zonk," an item purposely chosen to be of little or no value to the trader.
3) Let's Make a Deal is also known for audience members who dress up in outrageous or crazy costumes in order to increase their chances of being selected as a trader.
4) As the show ends, it is typical for the host to ask random members of the audience to participate in "quick deals". Audience participants are encouraged to carry certain items in their pockets or bags in order to win an additional prize.
SO...in order to make this a little more interesting to geocachers, we will follow the same idea BUT there will a caching theme associated with all prizes. Participants are encouraged to wear crazy outfits to increase their chances of being picked to play. [We will try to give everyone an opportunity to play and win a prize.] AND...all items needed for quick prizes at the end will be TOTTs that a geocacher might have for better caching opportunities. Be creative in what you pack with you as you never know what we might ask to show the host in order to win a quick deal!

WHERE: LOOK AT NEW COORDINATES IN ANNOUNCEMENT AS THE WEATHER WILL BE COLD FOR AN OUTDOOR EVENT.....NOT ABLE TO CHANGE AS NEW LOCATION IS MORE THAN 500 FEET FROM ORIGINAL!!!!
