WW2 Bomber Command Memorial (Beachy Head):
This memorial has the following inscription:

WORLD WAR II 1939 TO 1945

In tribute to the 110,000 aircrew of the
Royal Air Force Bomber Command
55,573 gave their lives in the cause of freedom
11,006 became prisoners of war
They volunteered and came in their thousands
from the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth
and the occupied countries of Europe to fight
and defeat a great tyranny

For many, Beachy Head would have been their
last sight of England.

Finding the cache:
This Mystery cache is based on the game of Battleships.
In this case, it involves guessing which of 100 squares conceals one of 10 small landing craft.
Each landing craft that is hit will give you a letter with an associated value that you will use to establish the final co-ordinates.
The locations of the 10 landing craft are identified by entering the 10 correct co-ordinates in the GEOCHECKER, below.
The bottom left-hand corner of the 100 squares is at N 50 44.000 E 000 08.000
The top right-hand corner of the 100 squares is therefore at N 50 44.900 E 000 08.900
With typical military precision, each landing craft is within a square 528 feet / 60m / 0.100 Minutes away from its immediate neighbouring square.
The co-ordinates of each of your guesses must therefore end in .000, .100, .200, ... .900
For example, the co-ordinates for approximately the centre of the square is N 50º 44.500 E 000º 08.500
For historical authenticity, the 100 squares are located a short way south of Cuckmere Haven.
During WW2, this estuary was flagged as a place very likely to have been used for an invasion attempt.
Some of the WW2 defences, e.g. pillboxes, can still be seen.
