It was during the Franco-Prussian (1870-71) war that they moved to Norwood as their mother and brother lived in the area.
Twelve paintings from their stay in Upper Norwood are listed and illustrated in the catalogue raisonné, published in 19EF, amongst them are Norwood Under Snow and Lordship Lane Station.
