Geocache Description:

A few days ago, I was standing at the posted coordinates and suddenly felt an urgent (and rather bizarre) need to find out how far I could throw a pebble. The results were disappointing but they did at least validate my decision not to pursue a career in professional baseball!

Just as I was walking away, a thought struck. Perhaps I could use some sort of tooling to improve my range? I searched through my pockets and to my amazement, found a Hooke's Mark 3 Super SlingShot which I had no recollection of purchasing. Obviously I retrieved the pebble and gave it another go.

I chose the optimum angle, pulled back the elastic as directed and let it fly. I watched as the pebble shot into the sky, soaring for what seemed like an age before falling back to the ground some distance from where I was standing. I was very surprised by the distance achieved - the pebble did not seem to be be affected by air resistance in any way!

It was at that moment that I realised that I probably should not have used my lucky pebble for the test. This was later confirmed when I walked to where I thought I saw the pebble land and failed to find it, even after an extensive search.

I don't remember the direction that I was facing when I launched the pebble but I do have excellent estimation skills! I believe that the bearing was exactly 10 times the maximum height the pebble achieved.

Perhaps you can work out where my lucky pebble landed?
