Geocache Description:

A long time ago when I first heard of Geocaching, I looked at the map, and located what I thought was the nearest cache to my house. I didn't get round to actually finding it, but remembered where it was, then forgot all about caching. Last year I got into Geocaching properly, and have now found nearly all my local caches. So I got into finding 'archived but still there' caches, I'm now on a mission to find archived caches, the older the better!

This cache took a lot of research to find on the GC website, as it wasn't a trad as I had remembered, but a puzzle cache, so didn't appear on the map where I thought it should be.. It was eventually found by accident whilst trawling archived caches, and I suddenly spotted something which bypassed the now unsolvable puzzle, and led to an instant find of the original cache! (It must have been the same thing I spotted 13 years ago that made me remember where the cache was located)

Despite this cache being 13 years old, and not found for more than 6, the contents are in remarkable but very wet condition. I have since cleaned and dried everything out, and reinstated all the surviving useable original contents. The original log book is included, and carries on where it left off.

The cache. This cache gives a big nod to the original, and is all based in the same area, although the puzzle and cache location are entirely new. The CO knows I have removed the old cache and has given me permission to re-use the contents. Here is a link to the original archived cache - Click Here

Many thanks to Sensei TSKC for letting me re-use his very first cache! :)

Go to the first waypoint and make a note of the 4 digit and 5 digit numbers on the sign. Let these be the values for ABCD EFGHJ in the same order as they appear on the sign. Then find the first cache, you are looking for a micro, hidden right on the right of way, out of view, but only just. No need to go reaching in the thorns, or off piste! This can be found at-

N51 45.(E/J) (F/J) (J+F+A) W000 44.((ExA)-A) (C-A) ((C/B)x(J+A))

Where you will find instructions for locating the final, using the information gathered at the first waypoint.

The self inking stamps in the cache are not trade items, and should be tightly wrapped up in the plasic zip top bag. I have included 2 stamps in case of failure. When closing the cache, please make sure no debris or plasic bags are caught in the seals! Have fun!

Congratulations to ammotuner for the FTF! :)
