Al posto della trafficata via Albere, una volta passava la via Postumia: era l’accesso alla citta’ di Verona per chi proveniva da ovest. Durante gli scavi degli ultimi decenni sono stati trovati in zona, ai lati della via romana i resti di impianti produttivi e soprattutto di necropoli, in ossequio ad antiche prescrizioni di legge che prevedevano le sepolture al di fuori delle mura della città lungo le principali vie di accesso. E’ probabilmente questa la ragione per cui una volta via Albere era detta la via dei sepolcri.
Via Postumia
Ho già parlato della via Postumia QUI ma ecco ancora alcune informazioni.
La via Postumia è una strada consolare romana costruita nel 148 a.C. dal console romano Spurio Postumio, da cui prese il nome, per ragioni di carattere militare. Il suo scopo era unire il porto marittimo di Genova con quello fluviale di Aquileia.
Nel percorso in esame la strada arrivava da Mantova e accedeva a Verona attraversando l’odierna Porta Palio sino a raggiungere Porta Borsari per poi proseguire attraverso Corso Sant’Anastasia al Ponte Postumio che attraversava l’Adige ed essendo questo l’unico costruito su tutto il percorso del fiume assunse ancor più importanza.
Questa wherigo si può fare ESCLUSIVAMENTE nei seguenti orari: dalle 8.30 alle 18.00 quando vige l’ora solare e dalle 8.30 alle 21.00 con l’ora legale.
Questa è la mia prima wherigo: ho pensato di farla semplice e veloce; divertitevi e non siate troppo severi nel vostro giudizio. I luoghi che visiterete non sono particolarmente belli o caratteristici ma rappresentano un momento importante della storia di Verona romana. Per il final, come mia abitudine, ho pensato ad un contenitore camo.
Fate attenzione che dopo ogni tappa per andare alla successiva bisogna ritornare su via Albere.

Via Postumia

Via Postumia is a Roman consular road built in 148 B.C. by the Roman consul Spurio Postumio, from which he took the name, for military reasons. Its purpose was to unite the sea port of Genoa with the river port of Aquileia.

The places you visit are not particularly beautiful or characteristic but represent an important moment in the history of Roman Verona. For the final, as my habitude, I placed a camo container.
