Many years ago before a park and playground popped up in their place these grounds were somewhat of a Pirates Paradise!

As time has moved forward and the seas have receded glimpses of the past can still be seen here at Henderson Park. The final resting place of Sir Alexander Jamison is said to be within these swamp lands. The Scottish sailor turned pirate pioneer had built a cache of treasure like no other seen before. In pursuit of his treasure many have perished by his hand until he was eventually betrayed and mortally wounded. He retreated into the swamps to never be seen again aside from his ghost pacing the nearby trails at dusk. It is said he continues to search for those who betrayed him back in those treasured times.

This cache is contained within John Henderson Family Park, open daily 6 am to 10 pm.
