Geocache Description:


For years ,motorists have been driving past the "brick chimney" on the edge of Weston Creek ACT and not known its story. It is a sewer vent... it was built in the 1920s. The sewer line for the new city of Canberra led from the provisional Parliament House, through Yarralumla, and onto Weston Creek. Hardships were encountered during the construction of the system when limestone caves were encountered along the way. A short distance away, was the campsite to house construction workers working on the sewerage tunnel. Westlake (pop. 700) was located in Stirling Park, today's Yarralumla. Westlake is a story on it's own. A bit of history still remains with this tall structure remaining today.

The cache is a micro ,with a few small swaps . Please bring a pen/pencil for signing. Please rehide exactly how you found the cache and do not mention the hide,or anything else you found at GZ in your log. A gate entrance is available near the street bend,in McConchie St. Do not enter from Cotter Road. Good luck.
