Geocache Description:

Geauga Park District geocaches will have a new theme for 2018 with a new cache being published every quarter.

The first of the series is in Burton Wetlands Preserve. While you are there, enjoy the views from the observation deck and exploring the preserve on the other side of the main road. But access to the dock and water are off limits (except during special park programs) to protect the sensitive plants that continue to thrive in the bog which surrounds Lake Kelso.

For these 2018 geocaches you will have to meet a different sort of a challenge (the twist) for each one that will require an extra bit of effort on your part - perhaps to find the cache itself or maybe it to pen the cache. These are not park-n-grabs.

Follow the trail from the parking lot to the garage/maintenance area to find an unmarked trail. Trust your GPS. This trail is not on the park map and is the overgrown driveway used by the previous owner when the property w as managed as a private fishing club from the 1950's to the 1970's. Two large white pines mark the location of the original house.
