It’s the most wonderful time of the year. For a couple of weeks every year the world takes on a magic glow, people seem merrier and even winter somehow feels cozy. Whether you’re celebrating a religious festival, like Hanukkah or Christmas, or a more secular occasion, you’re sure to have your own selection of rituals or customs that make the holiday season so special. I have tried to find some Christmas traditions around the world that are loud, proud, and guarantee oodles of festive fun.
Catalonians include the figure of the caganer in their nativity scenes - a small figure of a defecating man. Catalonians also have the Tio de Nadal, otherwise known as the "Pooping Log". Decorated with a face and blanket, on Christmas Eve. the log is placed halfway into a fire and beaten with sticks.
These caches are meant to be easier to find to help increase your numbers. They are perfect for rainy days, cold days, days when you need the cache of the day, days when you are short on time, or simply days that you want to stay on more flat ground and out of the woods. They are mostly found out in the country, so expect a pleasant, relaxing drive. Enjoy!
