Muri Liberi è un'iniziativa lanciata dal Comune di Milano nel 2015 dove vengono messi a disposizione degli spazi per la street-art. Si avvale di uno strumento per fare conoscere e promuovere l’arte di strada.
Questo strumento è accessibile a tutti, sia a chi vuole ammirare i graffiti sia a chi vuole esprimere le propria capacità artistiche. Il progetto sta avendo molto successo e i murales vengono spesso rinnovati.
I “muri liberi” sono a totale disposizione di chiunque voglia esprimersi liberamente nella street-art. Per quanto riguarda i temi, sono lasciati alla libertà degli artisti: l’amministrazione comunale si riserva solo la libertà di cancellare scritte offensive nei confronti di religioni, paesi, persone e organi di Stato.
Questa iniziativa porta un po' di colore alla città e anche alla diminuzione di scritte chiamate “tag” e pasticci incomprensibili non gradevoli alla vista.
Andando sulla "Mappa Muri Liberi" tramite il sito del comune è possibile localizzare e visualizzare le zona interessate cliccando sulle bandierine poste sulla cartina della città che indicano la presenza dei muri.
Inoltre i cittadini avranno la possibilità di segnalare spazi per la street-art all’indirizzo muriliberi@comune.milano.it. Le segnalazioni saranno vagliate dai tecnici dell’assessorato ai lavori pubblici che accerteranno se lo spazio indicato è idoneo per l’arte di strada.
I muri coinvolti nell’iniziativa sono cavalcavia, muri di recinzione, sottopassi e sovrappassi di proprietà e in carico all’Amministrazione comunale ma anche i muri di proprietà di Enti e Società (Fs, F.N.M.E., A2A, Mm) che hanno aderito. Sono esclusi da “Muri liberi” tutti i muri che fanno parte di strutture vincolate dalla Soprintendenza ai Beni Culturali e Architettonici, in particolare tutta la Zona 1 e i Navigli, e inoltre i muri scolastici.

--> Ma c'è dell'altro oltre i murales. Vicino alla cache, in via Schievano, è possibile trovare una lapide posta dal comune di Milano in memoria dei tre poliziotti uccisi dalle brigate rosse nell'attentato dell'8 gennaio del 1980.

Muri Liberi is an initiative launched by the Municipality of Milan in 2015 where street-art spaces are made available. It makes use of a tool to make known and promote street art.
This tool is accessible to everyone, both those who want to admire graffiti and those who want to express their artistic skills. The project is having a lot of success and the murals are often renewed.
The "free walls" are available to anyone who wants to express themselves freely in the street-art. As for the themes, they are left to the freedom of the artists: the city administration reserves only the freedom to cancel offensive writings against religions, countries, people and organs of state.
This initiative brings a little color to the city and also to the decrease of written calls "tags" and incomprehensible messes not pleasing to the eye.
Going on the "Free Walls Map" through the site of the municipality it is possible to locate and display the interested areas by clicking on the flags placed on the city map indicating the presence of the walls.
In addition, citizens will have the opportunity to report spaces for street-art at muriliberi@comune.milano.it. The reports will be evaluated by the technicians of the public works department who will verify if the space indicated is suitable for street art.
The walls involved in the initiative are overpasses, fencing walls, underpasses and overpasses owned and managed by the municipal administration, but also the walls owned by corporations and companies (Fs, F.N.M.E., A2A, Mm) that have joined. All walls that are part of structures bound by the Superintendence for Cultural and Architectural Heritage, in particular all of Zone 1 and the Navigli, and also the school walls are excluded from "Free Walls".

--> But there's more besides the murals. Near the cache, in via Schievano, you can find a plaque placed by the city of Milan in memory of the three policemen killed by the red brigades in the attack of 8 January 1980.
