The 1.75?  Huh?  Well the first "annual" event last year was held on April 4th, 2017 and we still plan to repeat it so this can't be the 2nd annual.  We rounded off and called it 3/4 of a year.

Paddle Plan

6:45 AM - BJ's Marina - 27907 Calvin Road, Hufffman, TX 77336 - Follow on event to be published by G&N Geocachers - Donuts & Coffee - Meet up and leave end shuttle cars as BJ's will be the end of the paddle. There is a $5 fee for parking / launching from BJ's.

7:15 AM - Depart in shuttle cars and head to Lake Houston Wilderness Park (LHWP) Kayak Launch.  Entry to the park is $3 per person.

8:00 AM - Launch and start paddling down stream grabbing the Caney Creek South (CC XS) series and the North Lake Houston West (NLH XW) caches.

~11:00 AM - Time to be determined based on arrival of participants from upriver.  Event to be held on sandbar near cache NLH 11W.  This is a luscious tropical beach (ok its white river sand courteousy of Harvey and may be cold as he$$ since its February).  At the event I will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, and pork & beans to fuel you up for the remainder of the paddle.  If its cold and we can scavenge up some fire wood a fire will also be provided.

~11:30 AM - Depart grabbing the remainder of the caches along the way to BJ's Marina.

Total Estimated Paddle Length - 6.0 miles

Planned Amount of Caches - 23 + Side Trips for the Adventurous

Team 150% will meet the group at CC 13S (the first cache) in his boat.  He will remain in the vicinity of the paddlers for assistance in the event of injury or someone not being being able to complete the trip.  It is recommended all pack a full change of clothes plus towel in a dry bag in the event of a water dumping.  All other precautions listed on the San Jacinto River Caching page should also be reviewed.

Looking forward to a great paddle!
