While walking in this spot one afternoon I came across a baby owl sitting on the ground near a tree. I came pretty close to him (not too close though) and he didn’t move. He just sat there staring at me and blinking. I was scared for him, so I took it upon myself to stay in this clearing and warn people, especially those with dogs off leash, that the owlet was here. I could see that the mother owl was up in a tree nearby with her eyes locked on the young one. Eventually I called PAWS and learned that this happens from time to time. These little guys fall out of their trees and learn to fly from the ground.
This cache is in honor of that little owl that I hope is grown and flying around the night sky above this park.
This should be a fairly quick find but service out here is pretty spotty, you might find your GPS jumping around a little. The cache is hiding a little off the trail to prevent it from being muggled. This is a pretty populated area, so be stealthy, and please put the cache back as you found it.
