Happy New Year, everyone! 
First and foremost - there is no need to do any damage to anything to find this cache!
As has become our custom, we once again have hidden a cache for the New Year. It seems it is a good way to get some folks out of the house on the first day of the first month of the year. For some folks, it will be no problem to come and find this - for others who were up a little later, well, it might take some encouragement to get going this morning....... or even this afternoon.
We do realize the various stages of readiness this morning, or even the whole day, will bring to some so we have been gentle with you. We have not asked you to walk far - if at all. If you are seeking this cache on January 1st, you just might have the area to yourself while you search.
For others, this may be the cache that starts you finding a cache every day of the year. We have done that and it was an interesting year. Rain, snow, sun, rain, sunny days, wind, rain, - yes, it rained a lot that year. But - it is a good way to get you up and out of the house - we suggest you give it a try. Why not start right now - here's a brand new cache for you to find.
For yet others, this willl just be another cache find along the way to some magic number and we were happy to help you! 
We ask if you find this cache when the area is a little busier than it will be on January 1st ( you will understand when you get here) please be respectful where you park while you search. A nearby business has limited parking at their front door - please leave that area for their customers.
This cache is like all others - fast find for some, while others will look a little longer. We ask that you post NO spoilers either in your log or in a photo - it will be deleted. And, like all caches, the log must be signed by you to claim your find. Photos of the area or your sad face do not count.
And - one more thing - we know all geocachers search with a thing to make their mark on the log - and to start the New Year right, you will need it for this find.
