Towards the end of 2017 the picnic area at the southern entrance to Otautau was upgraded. Where there was once 2 old picnic tables overgrown with greenery there is now one new table in the middle of the clearing.
Come and have a picnic, a coffee or just a break at this wee picnic stop, but head for where the old tables were - corner closest to the railway and the township.
Coordinates taken on a rainy morning, but averaged over 50 measurements to within 2m accuracy. There is no need to leave the picnic area.
