Panda's Hide #1 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

pandafar: Sadly we are having to archive this cache as lots of trees, including the tree hosting it, have been felled and we can’t find the cache in all the debris. This is the second time it’s happened here so will look for an alternative location once the forestry work has finished.

Geocache Description:

PLEASE NOTE WE HAVE NOW HAD TO REPOSITION THIS CACHE SLIGHTLY AS HOST TREE HAS BEEN CUT DOWN. IT IS NOW APPROX 1 METER EAST OF ORIGINAL COORDINATES.

We love visiting Felbrigg, a National Trust property, near Cromer, and we recently placed our first cache at the very edge of the estate, in a woodland area known as Lion's Mouth. We hope it will encourage folk to visit more of the estate, and the Hall.

Now that the first cache has been found, we have asked for (and received) permission to place a few more!  These are 4 caches loosely based on a panda theme (as per our user name).

Panda has been having fun climbing trees, and has gone home for a rest, but has left a cache for you to find - a small container.

These 4 caches are all within a few metres of both the purple (Great Wood Walk) and orange (Marble Hill Walk) way-marked trails. (Both cover the same ground for the area in which the caches are placed but in opposite directions.) The caches are numbered 1 - 4.

Placed with the kind permission of the National Trust.

PLEASE NOTE: These woodland footpaths can get a bit boggy after wet weather, and are also, obviously, best avoided in windy weather!  Please take care, especially with children, as the Felbrigg estate is large, and it does contain a lake and at least one deep pond.  Also at different times of the year there are cattle and sheep grazing within the grounds.

Due to the pandemic, there is currently only parking at the main car park, for which there is a charge for non-members of the National Trust. Use of the car park has to be pre-booked. (Check the National Trust website for opening times etc.)
