So's I heads out to hide this container and I've got this BIG BEAUTIFUL SUPER MOON accompaning me on my ride. It's almost full on this ferociously freezing cold evening on the last day of the year!! Brrrrrrr! "Baby" it's cold outside! Just saying! It will be officially FULL here on the east coast at 9:24PM tomorrow January 1st, 2018! This first full moon of the year is also a SUPER MOON and refered to as the "WOLF"MOON. A SUPER MOON looks 12%--to 14% bigger and 30% brighter due to it's closest approach to earth which is called perigee. Then there will be another FULL MOON on January 31st at 8:27AM. Two moons in one month is rare which is why it's refered to as a "BLUE" MOON. The second moon in January will almost be a SUPER MOON but not quite. That moon is called a "RED BLUE" MOON. There will be a TOTAL ECLIPSE of the moon on January 31st making the moon appear red. Because it's the second FULL MOON of the month it's referred to as a RED BLUE MOON. How often does that happen? You got it.... ONCE IN A BLUE MOON!! BUT.....wait for it.....there will be NO FULL MOON in February! Say what?? And two more FULL MOONS in March! On March 1st at 7:51PM and again on the 31st at 8:37AM. I guess you could say I'm really into the MOON! LOL! Did you just hear me howl????? Anyway's back to the cache.....this is a new hide on Lincoln Park Road in Preston. You can fish here during fishing seaon so bring your pole if you're so inclined. I've replaced an old hide here with a new container that is small BUT not itty bitty. Left a couple of Washingtons for the hardcore geocacher who doesn't let a little bit of cold stop them...no sir..eeee! And a small token for 2nd to find. Goodbye 2017! Happy New Year Geocachers!
