A Cache of Ice and Fire #13 - Cersei Lannister.
One of a series of caches that will take you on an adventure into the Gollans Stream area between Wainuiomata and Eastbourne. The series is designed to be accessed via Rata Ridge Track - I recommend accessing it from the end of Lees Grove in Wainuiomata. These caches are based on established Bait Lines through the reserve area. Please respect the hard work of the volunteers who work in this area - do not touch, alter, or damage any of the pest control traps. None of the caches are located near a trap - there is no need for you to come into contact with them. GPS reception in this area can be patchy - almost all of these caches are therefore hidden directly on or beside the Bait Line.
This series is named after some of the many characters from the A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels (later adapted into the successful television show "Game of Thrones"). This particular cache celebrates Cersei Lannister.
Daughter of Lord Tywin Lannister and Joanna Lannister, wife of King Robert Baratheon and Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.
Cersei fell in love with her twin brother, Jaime, when they were both young and they carried on an incestous relationship for much of their lives. Growing up, she always resented that even though she and Jaime were nearly identical, she was never allowed to learn how to use a sword or engage in other manly pursuits. When she was ten, Lord Tywin attempted to arrange a match between her and Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. A great tournament was held at Casterly Rock, but King Aerys II Targaryen ultimately decided that Tywin's family was beneath the royal dignity and refused to make the match.
