How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Number 541 in a series of caches where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box.

The only rules are that they have to be able to be photographed together, be not more than 100’ apart and the phone boxes have to be red.

A Fine Pair in the delightfully named hamlet of Wasps Nest, named after the public house which was here and is sadly, long gone! The cache has a good view of the Fine Pair but is no longer adjacent to them.

There is a display on the history of Wasps Nest in the phone box, please take the time to read it, its interesting and it will provide some cover for the real reason for your visit. Please note the phone box is overlooked at all times.

Please park considerately, this is a narrow road which is often used by farm traffic. Great stealth will be needed in retrieving and replacing the cache as the residents of Wasps Nest are on the look at at all times, a poster near GZ, explains why. For this reason please do not attempt the cache at night!

The Fine Pair series was originally started by wizardsmum but is now managed by mattd2k

If anybody would like to place 'A Fine Pair' of their own please do. I would just ask that you first visit to request a number to avoid any duplication

mattd2k also keeps a public Bookmark List of this series. Once your cache is published please contact him via to have yours added
